About the author

Rodney Rice

Rodney L. Rice is a lifelong servant of the Gospel, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, whose ministry has touched countless lives across churches, prisons, and mission fields for over four decades. Based in Alabama, Rodney’s spiritual journey is grounded in both the Word of God and the real-world trenches of faith, from rural communities to international missions in Haiti and Belize, where he became the first American ever invited to preach inside a Belizean prison.

As a chaplain, preacher, and spiritual counselor, Rodney writes from experience, not theory. His books From Trials to Triumph and Not Just a Believer, equip believers to fight the battles of faith with clarity, courage, and conviction. Through stories from his time in prison ministry, personal struggles, and decades of church leadership, Rodney offers readers more than inspiration. He offers a spiritual battle plan.

When he’s not writing or teaching, Rodney is often invited to speak at churches, men’s conferences, and discipleship events where his message is both timeless and urgent: Christianity is more than belief, it’s a daily walk of obedience, discipline, and spiritual warfare.

To invite Rodney for speaking engagements or interviews, please reach out via his publisher at Wolfox Global Publishing or connect through his author contact page.

The Fear of God: Walking in Awe of the Almighty

The fear of the Lord is not Terror.
It is the beginning of wisdom. It is the fire that awakens true disciples.

For too long, modern faith has been diluted into comfort, convenience, and compromise. Churches are filled, but hearts are empty. Believers know the songs of praise but not the weight of His presence. Godly Fear calls us back to the trembling awe that shakes the soul and awakens the spirit.

Rodney Rice delivers a bold, unflinching message: until we reclaim holy reverence, we cannot walk in true obedience, power, or intimacy with Christ. Like a prophet for this generation, he draws on Scripture to confront complacency, expose false confidence, and stir the kind of fear that leads to freedom, holiness, and unshakable faith.

  • For readers of Francis Chan (Crazy Love), David Platt (Radical), and Tony Evans (The Power of God’s Names)
  • A wake-up call to believers tired of shallow Christianity
  • A guide to rediscover the God who is not safe… but is always good

If you have ever wondered why your prayers feel unanswered, why your faith feels stagnant, or why your worship feels hollow—this book will ignite your spirit.

  • It’s time to tremble again.
  • It’s time to bow low so you can rise high.
  • It’s time to rediscover Godly Fear

Not Just a Believer: Becoming a True Disciple

If you’ve ever felt like there’s more to following Jesus than just Sunday services and Bible verses, this book is your wake-up call.

Through powerful real-life stories, Scripture-based truths, and down-to-earth guidance, Rice unpacks what it really means to follow Jesus with your whole life, not just your words. You’ll explore:

  • What it means to carry your cross daily

  • How to abide in Christ when life gets hard

  • The cost of discipleship and why it’s worth it

  • How to live your faith out loud in today’s world

From Trials To Triumph: The Battle Every Christian Must Fight

What if the pain you’ve been through was preparing you for something greater?
In From Trials to Triumph, Rodney L. Rice shares a deeply moving, honest, and faith-filled journey that proves one powerful truth: God never wastes a struggle.

Whether you’ve faced heartbreak, loss, addiction, or just feel lost in today’s fast-moving world, this book will meet you where you are. Through real-life experiences, scripture, and spiritual insight, Rodney gently reminds us that faith isn’t just for Sundays—it’s for survival.

Inside these pages, you’ll discover:

  • How God can use your brokenness to build something beautiful
  • The lifestyle of authentic, everyday Christian faith
  • What it really means to trust God—even when it hurts
  • Encouragement that speaks to your soul, not just your situation

This is Rodney’s first book—but it’s not just a personal story. It’s an invitation. An invitation to believe again. To heal. To grow. And to triumph—not in your own strength, but through the power of God’s grace.

If you’ve ever wondered “Why me?”“Where is God in all this?”, or “How do I keep going?”—this book is for you.

Communicating With God

Do you ever pray and feel like heaven is quiet?
Do you long to hear God’s voice but all you sense is silence?

In Communicating With God, Christian author Rodney L. Rice takes you on a soul-stirring journey through Scripture and modern life to uncover how God still speaks today and why so many believers no longer recognize His voice.

From the thunder of Genesis to the quiet whisper of the Holy Spirit, this book reveals the biblical patterns of divine communication, showing how sin, distraction, and spiritual noise have muffled humanity’s ability to hear. More than theology it’s a roadmap for restoring a living conversation with God.

Inside, You’ll Discover:

  • How God Spoke in the Beginning — from Eden to the prophets, and what it means today.
  • Why the Silence of God Is Not His Absence — and how to find His voice in stillness.
  • The Hidden Role of Sin and Distraction — how modern life disconnects you from spiritual clarity.
  • Practical Ways to Hear God’s Voice Again — through Scripture, prayer, the Holy Spirit, and creation.
  • What It Means to Walk in the Spirit — and how to discern divine guidance versus emotional impulse.

Whether you’re a new believer or a lifelong Christian, Communicating With God offers a deeply personal, Bible-based guide to reignite your spiritual hearing. It will strengthen your prayer life, renew your faith, and remind you that God never stopped speaking. He’s just waiting for you to listen.
